Trademark News

  • Adam Dorey (the voice on the speakers at Rocky Mount Race Week) is leading the fight to challenge the ‘drag and drive’ trademark. In a recent update on Facebook he covers some of the history of the sport and how the term came be used with our events.

If you are a resident of the United States, you may show your support by having your contact information included on the official document that will be filed with the United States Patent & Trademark Office in the very near future; instructions are included in the Facebook post.

Event Updates

Registration Reminder

There are currently 13 different drag and drive events in 3 different countries which have registraton open and spots available. Visit our list to find something close.

Also opening up this weekend on Saturday, Feb. 22:

  • Hot Rod Drag Week 2025. The original national-level event that started it all. Registration sells out very quickly. It will take place the second week of September and while visiting 4 tracks in Maryland and Pennsylvania.
  • Heads Up Hustle 2025, a 3-day event that’s great for new participants and veterans alike. Total drive distance is roughly 300 miles and will visit Milan Dragway and Mid Michigan Motorplex at the end of July.

Other Stuff

The group behind Sick the Magazine is now offering insurance. Competition is a good thing so it’s nice to see more coverage options for our sport.

In their own words:

Sick Insurance has launched, offering insurance that knows and understands what a drag-and-drive vehicle is, with reasonable annual rates and realistic valuations. There’s no need to lie about what your car is in order to get coverage — Sick Insurance is happy to work with you to provide a better way to cover your pride and joy.

We’ve added them to our list of insurance providers, bringing the total up to six.
